Our Story

Our Journey to Marysville’s Favorite Saloon

Silver Dollar Saloon is a true family business, rooted in Marysville and shaped by two people who grew up in restaurants their entire lives: Joe and Meigan.

From Dishwasher to General Manager

Joe’s Journey

Joe moved from Sacramento to the Yuba–Sutter area when he was 11 and graduated from YCHS, Class of ’97.

In 2003 he moved to Marysville to help his parents open their newly purchased business, the Silver Dollar Saloon. Over the next 15 years he did just about everything you can do in a restaurant — dishwasher, cook, bartender, and eventually general manager.

During that time he attended the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Academy. He graduated with honors in 2015, ready to start his own restaurant and carry on the family tradition.

Meigan’s Story

Meigan’s Restaurant Roots

Meigan grew up in Fresno, working in her parents’ Chinese restaurant. She later earned a bachelor’s degree from Missouri Western State University and found her passion for hospitality while working on the Vans Warped Tour, catering for some of the biggest names in entertainment.

She went on to open her own Chinese restaurant, gaining the experience that would one day help take the Silver Dollar Saloon to the next level.

Making the Saloon Their Own

In 2018, Joe and Meigan purchased the Silver Dollar Saloon from Jacki and Gary Cumings and truly made it their own. Since then, they’ve raised three awesome kids who now work alongside them in the restaurant.

Today: Community First

Joe and Meigan share a strong sense of community and take real pride in the food, drinks, and hospitality they offer. For them, the Silver Dollar Saloon isn’t just a business — it’s a place to welcome neighbors, celebrate local history, and create new memories together.
